The Timeline Window

This chapter explains how to create a Timeline window

The Timeline window shows your images or documents on a time scale according to their creation (or last modified) date.

Images: only jpeg and tiff; The program looks for a date in the following order:
1. IPTC Creation date
2. IPTC Digitized date
3. Exif DateOriginal date (creation date)
4. Exif DateTime date (last modified date)
Documents: only .doc and .xls (only creation dates)

You can create a timeline window from:

in the Import&browse screen by pressing Ctrl+D
in the Index window by selecting Options->Timeline
from the database views

In the timeline window:

An icon is displayed on each day on which one or more images or documents were created.

By left-clicking on the icon you see the number of items on that day and by double-clicking the icon you will get an Index window with the items created on that day.
Use the left and right arrow keys (in combination with Shift/Alt) to move the timescale to left or right.
